Wow, it's good to be back! After a long summer in which we have dealt with everything from North Korean aggression to Russia mania to the media's daily Trump roast to Charlottesville, healthcare seems to have been pushed to the back of the bus. I have yet to figure out how Congress is not held accountable for not having a signature-ready healthcare plan on the president's desk. Negotiations between the Freedom Caucus and the liberal wing of the GOP should have begun the day Obamacare passed, seven years ago, and ended way before January 20th, 2017.

Once again, Congress proved to all of us regular folk that they are more concerned with politics, donors, and re-election than helping Americans drowning in the sea of high premiums. Granted, the system required a major overhaul during the Bush administration; however, Obamacare has proven to be a dismal failure and, clearly, the wrong solution. As Golda Meir, the former prime minister of Israel, once said, "There will be peace in the Middle East when the Arabs will love their own children more than they hate us.". This quote can be applied to our current political soap opera as well. When the Democrats, media complex, NeverTrumpers, and yes, Sen. John McCain, learn to love their constituents more than they hate President Trump, we might be able to accomplish something positive for the American people.

On a side note, I don't mean to pile on but someone should tell Sen. McCain that his phony Trump-bashing at every turn is seen as an obvious retaliation for then-candidate Trump's remarks about McCain's military service and that he's tarnishing his legacy every time he speaks. What all the anti-Trumpers fail to understand is that regular, smart, hard-working deplorables—uh, I mean Americans—want results and don't care about the DC swamp culture. If they played ball with Trump, the likes of GOP Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, for example, would breeze to a second term and write a book or something, but now, because he's getting hammered by the president, he's trailing his opponent, Kelli Ward, 47% to 21%, according to one of the latest polls. Arrogance does them in every time and unfortunately, it won't let them learn from their mistakes any time soon.
